Thaw the puff pastry according to package directions until soft but still cold.
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place one sheet of puff pastry on the parchment paper. Using a rolling pin, gently roll it out to make it slightly larger and flatter.
Spread an even layer of your favorite jarred sauce over the pastry. Lightly sprinkle with salt.
Roll out the second sheet of puff pastry to the same size and place it on top.
Using a sharp knife, cut the dough into the shape of a Christmas tree, removing excess dough from the sides.
Starting at the base of the tree, cut horizontal strips on both sides.
Twist each strip gently to create a festive tree-branch look.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
If desired, sprinkle with vegan Parmesan cheese and freshly ground black pepper while warm. Serve immediately.
Notes
If you have leftovers, this puff pastry Christmas tree reheats beautifully. Store in the fridge and warm it in the air fryer for a few minutes until crispy again.
